We had a great time, boat was comfortable, clean and enough equipment for our needs. Staff were helpful and friendly. We would certainly do it again.

We really enjoyed our week away, but felt that the boat was not of a high enough standard to justify the cost of hire for the week. Although the boat is spacious, the fixtures and fittings are extremely dated and worn. Also, the size of the boat means that it can be extremely difficult to navigate certain stretches of the canal. We were not warned at booking, or when we collected the boat, that the handling would be difficult, and that there would be few opportunities to turn the boat around along the route - which meant that we had to cut our travelling down by a day, to ensure that we would be back at the boat yard in time to drop off at 9am on our final day. We also felt that there was very little information given at the time of booking, and collection of the boat, regarding the route, or suitable places to moor up. We were very much left to our own devices and some additional advice and perhaps an itinerary would have been welcomed.

I was impressed with the handover of the Deanbrook boat. The boat had been well prepared and was fully fuelled, charged and cleaned. I was particularly impressed with the handover training that I was given. It fully prepared me for my holiday and I appreciated the patient explanation I received. The boat, its handling and equipment all added up to an excellent holiday. One of the toilets was leaking waste on flushing and this was raised at handover. An unsuccessful attempt was made to effect a repair. In the end this toilet was not used and onshore facilities were used wherever possible. The other toilet did cope and we didn’t need to have a pump out. The weather was extremely wet. This limited which parts of the canal were accessible and the facilities we could access on shore. As I said we didn’t need a pump out. If we had that would have been problematic.

Boat was showing its age /use, windows didn't work properly, security was very poor, the seating was uncomfortable and had an issue with the inverter, boatyard friendly and helpful
